USDA Economist Booth at the USDA Ag. Outlook Forum Feb. 27-28

We have three upcoming events on the calendar that I hope will be of interest to you. 

 

  1. At the USDA’s Agricultural Outlook Forum in Arlington next week (Feb 27-28), we will have our booth in the group hall.  Please feel free to stop by and say hi.   

 

  1. On Thursday evening, USDA Economists will be having a happy hour starting at 5pm after the first day of the Forum.  Please join us to re-connect with colleagues and find out what has been happening around USDA.  The Happy Hour is at:

  1. Nominations for the USDA Economists’ Annual Awards will be opening soon.  Details on how to nominate an individual or group for one of the four awards will be sent out in a separate email.   Awards will be presented in an afternoon ceremony on Thursday April 24th in the Whitten Building. 

 

For a bit of background, USDA Economists was formed as an Employee Resource Group in the 1990s as a way for economists across the agency to network, share career-related information, host speakers, and recognize superior work from within our field.   Members share an interest in economic, statistical, or social science methods as applied to the agricultural economy and public policy.  However, members do not need to be USDA employees or economists.  All events are open to members and non-members of the group.  Instructions for joining or leaving our email distribution list are at the end of this message.
